Deed – Robert McMichael to Joseph Griffey, March 9, 1840

This Indenture made and entered into this 9th day of March 1840 between Robert McMichael of the one part and Joseph Griffy of the other part both of the County of Anderson and State of Kentucky. Witnesseth that the said Robert McMichael hath this day given, and by these presents doth deed and convey a certain tract or parcel of land unto the said Joseph Griffy, estimated in value at Two hundred dollars, and to be considered by the said Griffy as such towards his part of the said Robert McMichael’s estate, said Land is Bounded as follows.
Beginning at a Black Oak and Mulberry on Ward’s line in the said County of Anderson and running with said line North 83° degrees West 54 poles to a Hickory, Dogwood and two Maple trees, thence N. 6° east 46 poles to a Dogwood and two Gum saplings, thence South 5° West Eighty poles [comes] to Wilkerson’s line, thence North Eighty four degrees east 152 poles to the Beginning and Containing by Survey fifty seven acres be it more or less, to have the above named land, together with all Singular, appurtenances unto him the said Joseph Griffy his heirs and Assigns forever. And I the said Robert McMichael doth forever Warrant and defend the rights and title of said land unto the said Joseph Griffy against all claim or claims, and all persons whatsoever, as Witness my hand and seal this day and date above Written.
